The Hazlet Youth Athletic League (HYAL) is a non-profit
501(c)(3) organization, proudly serving the Hazlet community since 1957.
Founded by a group of local families, HYAL was created to give children a safe,
supportive, and fun environment to play youth recreational sports while growing
into well-rounded individuals.
Our Mission
HYAL is committed to helping young athletes develop skills
that extend beyond the field — including teamwork, discipline, hard work, and a
sense of community. Through our programs, we aim to support each child’s
personal growth while instilling sportsmanship and a lifelong love of the game.
We are also proud to award eight annual college scholarships to outstanding
youth athletic scholars in our community.
HYAL is operated entirely by volunteers and does not receive
direct public funding. Our programs are made possible through registration
fees, community fundraising, sponsorships, and the dedication of volunteers
like you.
Thanks to the commitment of our coaches, committee members,
and supporters, we continue to offer a wide range of high-quality athletic
programs that help our youth grow both on and off the field.
If you're looking for a meaningful way to give back, we
invite you to get involved — your support truly makes a difference.
Volunteer Opportunities
We offer many ways for community members to contribute their
time and talents. Whether you're leading a team, helping behind the scenes, or
supporting events — your involvement makes a difference.
Your participation ensures that HYAL continues to grow and
provide the best possible experience for our young athletes.
Thank You
As a fully volunteer-run, self-funded organization, HYAL is
incredibly grateful for every individual who contributes their time, energy,
and passion. Whether you're coaching, volunteering, sponsoring, or simply
cheering from the sidelines — you're helping us build a stronger, healthier,
and more connected community for our youth.
